Tipperary’s John McGrath and Kerry’s David Clifford are the July winners of the PwC GAA/GPA Hurler and Footballer of the Month, while Dublin’s Kate Sullivan and Galway’s Aoife Donohue are named the PwC GPA Women’s Players of the Month for July/August.

John McGrath scored 1-2 to help Tipperary defeat perennial rivals Kilkenny in the All-Ireland hurling semi-final.

In the final, against a heavily favoured Cork team, McGrath’s contribution was again pivotal.

The Loughmore/Castleiney man scored 2-2, including a stunning second goal as the Premier County won the Liam MacCarthy Cup for the first time since 2019.

McGrath becomes the first Tipperary hurler to win the PwC GAA/GPA Award since his brother Noel won the accolade in August 2019 following that last championship victory.
