St Mary's Parochial School Clonmel

tHE St Mary’s Parochial School community in Clonmel recently hosted some local celebrities to help celebrate the end of the year. Pupils, parents, staff, and special guests gathered to celebrate the pupils in a ceremony that blended creativity, achievement, and community spirit.

The school said goodbye to the graduating sixth-grade pupils and commended the hard work of all the students in the school.

The school greatly appreciated the gift of the mural of the water birds of Marlfield Lake.

This had been on display by the lake for over twenty years. Maureen Purcell, of STAG, led a team of artists to bring their painting back to life. It now hangs proudly in the backyard for the children to enjoy.

The children studied the water birds on the sign, drew pictures, and researched lake wildlife. They recently went on a field trip to Marlfield Lake where they saw the birds in their natural habitat.

Mayor Cllr Pat English unveiled the mural to great excitement. The school community was joined by Maureen Purcell, STAG members and Bernie Lennon of Marlfield village committee.

The school was also very excited to share the news that the Department of Education has granted the school substantial funding for a complete heating system upgrade.
