Brendan Cummins has stepped down as Tipperary U20 hurling manager
Brendan Cummins has brought his five-year spell as Tipperary U20 hurling manager to an end.
The former Tipperary goalkeeper took charge of the county's U20 side in 2021 and enjoyed a highly successful tenure. During his time in charge, he led the Premier County to the All-Ireland title in 2025, while also securing back-to-back Munster championships in 2024 and 2025.
A third successive provincial crown narrowly eluded Tipperary this year when they lost to Clare in a penalty shoot-out after the Munster final at the Gaelic Grounds in May. Clare went on to claim the All-Ireland title by defeating Galway in the final.
Under Cummins, Tipperary reached two of the last three All-Ireland under-20 finals. They fell short against Offaly in 2024 before overcoming Kilkenny a year later to lift the title. That victory ended a six-year wait for an All-Ireland U20 crown, with the county's previous success at the grade coming in 2019.
