Robert Lanphier’s A to Z Catering van burnt out in a fire last weekend

A fundraiser has been started for a Tipperary business owner who lost his catering van in a fire.

Robert Lanphier’s A to Z Catering mobile catering van caught fire overnight and was left in an unsalvageable condition once the fire had been quenched.

Robert’s damages were not covered by his insurance, so Tom Doran, of the popular Tipperary band The Rebel Hearts, set up a GoFundMe page in an attempt to aid Robert in getting back to business as quickly as possible.

The fundraiser has set a goal of raising €3,500, and at the time of writing, has surpassed over €1,800.

Speaking on the donation page, the band mentioned Robert’s integral role in the Clonoulty and Dundrum communities.

They said: “Last week brought the sad news that our local caterer Robert Lanphier of "A to Z Catering" sadly lost his mobile catering business in an overnight fire. This is not just a terrible loss for Robert and his livelihood, its also a huge loss to the community as a whole in Tipperary and beyond. Robert has been a familiar sight in the likes of Clonoulty & Dundrum & various events around the county. For the local community, its not just about the burgers & chips, its about the friendly face, the banter, the laughs and a place to meet others.

“Incidentally- Check out the video on our facebook page taken only 2 weeks ago where Robert kindly made a promo for us for an upcoming gig . Unfortunately Roberts Insurance didn't cover this accident so he is now faced with closing the business down. We are hoping that we can raise a small few quid to get him back up and running again. Any donation , no matter how small will make a huge difference.”
