Nenagh Municipal District wraps up a busy year of successful local projects

The final meeting of the Nenagh Municipal District saw councillors spend the last portion of the meeting congratulating the county council and in particular Nenagh district administrator Rosemary Joyce on the successful series of events that have closed out the year in the past few weeks.

Cllr Joe Hannigan said: “I want to commend Rosemary Joyce and her team on all the work that’s been done in the town over the past few weeks. Driving through the town today, it is so vibrant and it’s great to see the amount of people walking the streets.

“The shopping experience is really going strong and the recent tractor light show and Christmas events had such a diverse offering which has been really great to see in the town.”

Cllr Louise Morgan Walsh agreed: “I also want to commend Rosemary and her team, the investment in the town is great and there is a real buzz around the place.“I also want to thank the council for all the work they’ve done throughout the year, the dedication and the support is unbelievable.”

The praise continued with fresh county councillor JP O’Meara adding: “Thanks to Rosemary for the her part in the various different events that have been happening in the town recently. I’ve been involved in the Christmas lights events since they began and it’s really something to be proud of and not a lot of towns can offer something similar.

“It has also been the first Christmas with the new traffic plan which has been working really well so thank you to the staff for all your hard work and I look forward to working with you all.”

Cllr Pamela Quirke O’Meara commented: “I want to also just add the great work that’s being done in rural communities over the past few weeks with the various events happening in smaller towns and villages in the area. Thank you also to the council who have been helping to keep work progressing on rural roads and in rural communities.”
