Diversions are in place from the end of the month

A stretch of the N24 from Derrygrath to Knockagh on the Cahir to Clonmel Road will be closed from September 28 to Octiber 26 for road resurfacing, from 6pm each evening until 8am the following morning.

Traffic will be diverted via the R687 and R639, say Tipperary County Council.

The condition and layout of the N24 from Cahir to Waterford has come under increased scrutiny lately as the multiple business Chambers have called for improvements ‘without delay’, including Tipperary Chamber.

Michelle Aylward, CEO of County Tipperary Chamber, said:

“For Tipperary businesses, the N24 is not simply another infrastructure project. It is the road they rely on every day to move staff, goods and services.

“Its current condition is adding time, cost and uncertainty for businesses, while towns such as Carrick-on-Suir, Clonmel, Cahir and Tipperary Town continue to carry significant volumes of through-traffic”.
