A spectacular night of entertainment was the reward for the hundreds of people who braved the weather to make their way to Hotel Minella in Clonmel last Friday night for the annual concert in aid of South Tipperary Hospice.

There was a wonderful atmosphere in the venue as the turnout for this annual event once again reflected the widespread community support for South Tipperary Hospice.

Music from Stage and Screen did not disappoint, as a high-quality group of performers provided a magical night of entertainment.

Special guests included the magnificent Joe ( who works as a music therapist with South Tipperary Hospice) and Polly Roche, as well as Andrea Ruth Houlihan and Hospice concert solo debutant Ciaran Cotter.

The concert featured the amazing Clonmel Concert Band conducted by Danny Carroll, with the appreciative audience enthralled by a beautiful array of such diverse music choices from Strauss and Puccini to a Billy Joel selection, Earth Wind and Fire, and a special tribute to the late Dolly Parton with a rendition of her huge hit I Will Always Love You delivered in some style by Andrea Ruth Houlihan.

As always, the Nallen family were great hosts on the night for the special event, and an enjoyable night was had by all.

Sean O’Donovan, Chairman of South Tipperary Hospice, thanked the audience for coming out in large numbers to support the concert.

He said the members of South Tipperary Hospice enjoyed organising the event every year as an expression of their appreciation for the massive support shown by the people of South Tipperary and beyond for the work carried out by the charity.

“South Tipperary Hospice is just about to move to a new home in Clonmel and services are being expanded all the time.We are fortunate that so many individuals and groups in communities throughout Tipperary continue to be so generous with their time in organising fundraising events and we are grateful for the dedication they have shown for decades to supporting the work of South Tipperary Hospice,” said Sean O’Donovan.

The Hospice chairman thanked the hosts and everybody involved for giving their time to organise the concert and help out on the night. He also thanked all of the performers and Danny Carroll and the Clonmel Concert Band.
