Tipp gardaí catch motorists doing shocking speeds on M8 during 'wet and windy conditions'

Weather conditions were wet with heavy wind and rain at times on the M8 over the weekend and with that in mind Tipperary Roads Policing Unit were monitoring the network.

Gardaí said: "During one of our speed checks detected a number of motorists in excess of 120km/h.

"Fixed charge notices issued."

Motorists were caught doing speeds of up to 154km/h.

"Speeding increases your chances of being involved in a collision and reduces your chances to react in the event of an incident."
