Tipperary councillor concerned over lack of interest in commercial vacancy scheme

Cllr Seamus Hanafin raised the low rate of uptake of the Commercial Vacancy Incentive Scheme.
He said there had only been 12 applications and asked if more could be done to encourage people to avail of the scheme.
The councillor made his comments at a recent sitting of Thurles-Templemore Municipal District Council during the discussion on community and economic development.
A representative from Tipperary County Council said it’s been a difficult time for businesses with covid-19 and now the economic crisis. However, she said people were gaining confidence and opening new businesses.
