Driver travelled at 144km/h in 100km/h zone on Kildare's N7

A motorist was recently detected travelling at 144 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on the N7 at Kill, Co Kildare during wet road conditions.

The driver was soon apprehended by Naas Roads Policing Unit (Naas RPU.)

Further checks revealed that the driver had:

• No insurance
• No NCT

The vehicle was impounded, and Fixed Charge Notices were issued for speeding and no NCT (€220 in total.)

The driver also received three penalty points.

A court appearance is to follow for having no insurance.

Gardaí would like to remind the public to drive within the stated speed limits, and always drive according to road conditions.
