Glenn Ryan reacts to Kildare's seventh defeat from seven league games

Kildare's loss to Louth leaves them without a single point and relegated from Division 2
Another disappointing result but I couldn't fault the effort or commitment from the players, there was a lot of could have been, maybe a tendency of fellas trying to put their best foot forward and they did everything to try and win that game.
The words of Kildare manager Glenn Ryan in the aftermath of their loss to Louth in the final game of the AFL Division 2, 2024.
The manager admitted that when playing with the strong wind “we didn't get enough scores in the first half; possibly a bit shot shy.”
So what needs to change with the championship just three weeks away?
“We need to continue to work and to try and find areas we can improve and try and get it right for the 14 (April). The manager added that “maybe we need to get the ball more into the scoring zone rather being shot shy, we need to get the ball into that area.”
Glenn said they have added Darragh Swords and Dean O'Donoghue to the squad while admitting that Aaron Masterson is showing now what we all know he is capable of, he has really stepped forward, tonight he was excellent and in the previous games has been really good and great to see him, along with other fellas who have stepped up and try to produce their best when things are really trying.”
The tendency when things are not going well is “to look at all the negatives so to be able to pick out a few positives such as Aaron (Masterson) and Shane (Farrell) are players who have stepped up and starting to show great leadership and.”
The manager said the squad will be going away into camp prior to the championship.
