Ballymore couple and two year-old daughter had lucky escape

Friends of a Ballymore family, who narrowly escaped a fire at their home last week, have set up a Go Fund Me page to help them get back on their feet.

Paul Kenny and and Stephen McHale are raising money on behalf of Scott Halliday, Freya Monks and their two-year-old daughter, Willow.

"As you may know last week a fire ravaged through their home and seriously damaged the building and much of their belongings. Freya and Willow were in the house at the time, but luckily they escaped safely from the fire. The family are naturally in shock and dealing with the fallout from such a devastating event. As you can imagine, this is an extremely stressful and difficult situation for them," said Paul.

He pointed out Scott has been one of the cornerstones of the Irish music industry for decades and Freya has worked across the entertainment business for many years.

"Anyone who knows or has worked with either of them can attest to just how good they are as people - fantastic parents, incredible workers and beautiful souls. It’s unclear at this point as to how much damage has been done to their equipment and personal belongings, or what can be salvaged. With the unknown costs they are currently facing, we are appealing to their wider circle of friends in the music industry and beyond to help them out in a time of real need."

So far, over €15,000 has been raised. Donations can be made by clicking here
