KILDARE ANIMALS IN NEED: Zoe and Trixie raise money for KWWSPCA

KWWSPCA Column
A few weeks ago, it was mentioned that one of our young supporters, Zoe Spillane, was raising money for the KWWSPCA by walking 100 kilometres in the month of July, with her dog, Trixie.
Despite the very wet month, Zoe and Trixie completed their walk, and raised €320 which is great. Zoe’s family adopted a rescue greyhound from the
KWWSPCA about seven years ago, called Hazel. Sadly, Hazel died last July and Zoe wanted to raise money for the charity in Hazel’s memory.
New Homes Found
Last week we featured the lurcher, Libby, and the cat, Valentina, who were looking for
new homes. We are delighted to say that Valentina has been adopted and Libby has also found a new home, so long as she settles with her new family.
Kittens looking for homes
Every Saturday morning, from 12.00 – 3.00, the KWWSPCA Kitty Cottage at the KWWSPCA Animal Shelter near Athgarvan, is open for people to come to see the cats and kittens that are available for adoption.
At the moment we have a number of kittens needing homes as well as a few old cats.
There is a €100 adoption fee when a cat or a kitten is adopted which will cover the cost of the first vaccination, microchipping, worm and flea treatment, and neutering.
If you want to visit any Saturday, please call 089 4588162 or 087 7045913 to make an appointment.
