Kildare court case struck out for a third time

JUDGE'S DECISION
A Naas District Court case against a County Laois man has been struck out for the third time.
The case appeared before presiding Judge Fiona Brennan on Thursday, February 1 last.
Dylan Redmond, with an address listed as 65 The Glen, Kilnacourt Woods, Portarlington, County Laois, but who is serving a sentence on other matters, was accused of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of sale and supply at the Lidl store situated on the Athgarvan Road in Newbridge on November 6, 2019.

Garda Detective Seamus Doyle told the judge that one of the witnesses involved in the case is currently in hospital.
However, Ms Murphy countered by saying that the State knew this fact since Monday (January 29 last), and it could have let her know in advance.
Judge Brennan agreed that the witness’ condition 'should have been communicated to the defence' by gardaí, and as such, the judge decided to strike-out the matter against Mr Redmond.
