Kildare’s Emma Browne has been announced as one of two Irish contestants that will compete for €284,000 investment on this year’s The Apprentice. The show is back on BBC One on January 5 at 9pm and will see 18 contestants battling it out to become Alan Sugar’s next business partner.

Emma Browne, who is a senior account executive is half of the Irish contingent alongside Dublin accountant Kevin D’Arcy. The pair were chosen out of thousands of applicants and endured what Ms Browne described as “many very intense auditions.” She describes herself as a "workaholic" and promised her business idea will be "one of the most successful ideas to ever come out of The Apprentice."
