LATEST: Kildare Co Council assessing plans for café and apartments in well-known shop building
Location in Athy town centre
A café / shop and seven apartments are planned for a shop building in Athy.
A planning application has been submitted to Kildare County Council for the demolition of the existing two-storey retail premises.
Being planned at the site at 58 Leinster Street (Tim Flood Flooring and Furniture) is the construction of:
- a three-storey building containing,
- a retail/cafe unit,
- a one-bedroom duplex unit,
- one studio apartment,
- two one-bedroom apartments,
- two three-bedroom duplex apartments (all with balconies),
- one three-bedroom apartment with a roof terrace.
Also planned is secure bike storage and a communal bin area.
Tim Flood Flooring and Furniture closed last year after over 40 years in business.
