Zoe aims to walk 100 kms with her dog Trixie to raise funds for Kildare animals in need

One of our young supporters, Zoe Spillane, is raising money for the KWWSPCA by walking 100 kilometres in the month of July, with her dog Trixie.

They have already covered quite a few kilometres and have raised over €200 so far. It is wonderful when the young have concerns about animal welfare and are willing to put time and effort into fundraising for charity. The photo shows Zoe and Trixie reading a nice article about their fundraising effort.

The Spillane family adopted Hazel from the KWWSPCA about seven years ago, but Hazel sadly went over the rainbow bridge last July. This fundraiser is in her memory.

If you and your dog fancy a nice stroll along the Barrow River and the Grand Canal please come along tomorrow, Sunday the 23 of July for a sponsored walk in aid of the KWWSPCA. The walk starts at 11 am at the Courthouse in Athy. Everyone is welcome to join the walk, even if you don’t have a dog. We hope to have some of our rescue dogs with us on the day.

We have quite a few beautiful kittens ready for adoption in the Kitty Cottage, and more that will be ready for adoption when they are a little older.

The Kitty Cottage is at the KWWSPCA Animal Shelter near Athgarvan, eircode W12 EV60. There is a €100 adoption fee per kitten which includes the cost of spay/neuter, vaccination, worm and flea treatment and microchipping. If you are planning to come along to see our kittens please bring ID and a cat carrier if you have one. If you don't have a carrier, we have some of them for sale.

Open days are usually Saturday afternoons from 12pm to 3pm.

KWWSPCA SUMMER BAZAAR – SUNDAY, 13 AUGUST 2023 FROM 12.00 – 3.00

The KWWSPCA’s first Summer Bazaar will take place at the KWWSPCA Animal Shelter near Athgarvan (Eircode W12 EV60) on Sunday, August 13, from 12.00 – 3.00. Plenty of free parking and no entry charge. There will be stalls selling cakes, books, plants, clothes, pet products, bric a brac, small items of furniture and much more. All the proceeds from the Bazaar will go to helping the animals in the care of the KWWSPCA.

KWWSPCA ANNUAL WAG & BONE DOG SHOW – SUNDAY 10 SEPTEMBER 2023

In the Parade Ring at Punchestown Racecourse. Registration starts at 1.00 and the Judging starts at 2.00. A Fun Dog Show. Every type of dog welcome, especially rescue dogs. Light refreshments will be available available. All dogs must be kept on leads.
