Space2Be are seeking support to help continue providing their vital service

Naas non-profit Space2Be, founded by local psychologist Cecilia Saviotti, is calling for support from the local Kildare community.

Space2Be is a community-based service where children and young people in the Naas and surrounding areas, with additional needs who may or may not have a diagnosis of autism, are offered a space to be themselves, have fun and be supported with their particular needs, on a one-to-one basis.

In existence since 2018, under the management of In Sync, Youth and Family Services, and for the last 2 years, Space2Be has since become an independent nonprofit organization. Unfortunately, having reached the end of the road with current funding, provided initially by the HSE, Space2Be have reached a pivotal point in its development and need financial support to continue offering this vital service to those who greatly need it in Naas and the surrounding areas.

As part of their funding campaign, Space2Be has launched a GoFundMe campaign (link here), and aims to use donations received to continue to deliver weekly workshops which are recreational in nature and clinically oriented. The funds will go towards supporting families and providing individual sessions in a group setting for 12 children until June 2024.

Space2Be are also hosting an open afternoon in McAuley Place, Luisne Centre, Nass, Co.Kildare on Good Friday, March 29, and are inviting the local community to attend and celebrate the success of the organization to date.

Space2Be founder, Cecilia Saviotti said, “Space2Be is a vital service for children and young people in the Kildare area. We currently support 14 families and want to continue to provide this necessary support. Our current funding has run out, so we are now calling for any financial funding from the local community in Kildare and surrounding areas and local businesses as well as the public sector for sustainable funding.”
