Crunch time for Kildare hurlers as they battle to avoid relegation against Derry today

Today marks the most important game of the Kildare hurlers year so far as they bid to retain their Division 2A status when they take on Derry in St Conleth's Park this afternoon.

The two sides occupy the bottom two places in the league table, with Kildare sitting a place above the Oak Leaf men after they secured a point from a draw away to London two weeks ago. Derry have lost all four of their games so far.

Kildare will be glad to have Gerry Keegan in from the start after he shook off an injury sustained in the defeat to Westmeath last weekend. Eoin O'Hehir also comes in to make his first start in this year's league campaign, although Jack Sheridan and Mark Delaney are suspended after picking up red cards last weekend.

Throw-in in Newbridge is at 2pm this afternoon and KildareNow will be reporting live to ensure you get the best of the action.
