There are 13 new faces compared to this time last year in the Kildare squad

Kildare ladies manager Diane O’Hora has released a 33-strong squad ahead of her side's 2024 Lidl LGFA Division 2 League that gets under way at home to Monaghan on Sunday January 21.

There are 13 changes compared to the squad named by the Mayo legend this time last year. This is in part due to injuries and squad changes throughout the Kildare ladies' now legendary 2023 campaign. Two among of the host of changes are the inclusion Aoife Clifford and Lauren Murtagh for 2024, who have long since earned themselves positions as starting players in this team since the 2023 announcement.

The notable absentees for 2024 are of course Lauren Burke who suffered a knee injury in Kildare's All-Ireland Intermediate final win over Clare and Grainne Kenneally, who stepped down from intercounty competition following last year's treble win.

Carbury's Jenna Kearney and Aoife Kilkenny have played their way into the squad to push their club's county membership up to three alongside Claire Sullivan.

New squad members Yasmin Browne (Ballymore), Erin Brereton Foley (Castlemitchell), Ellie O'Toole (Kilcullen), Leah Doran (Balyna) and Lisa Shaw (Naas) are all the sole representatives from their respective club sides.

Unsurprisingly County Champions Eadestown have the highest representation with five squad members, with Milltown a close second with four.
