The funeral of former RTÉ presenter Dick Warner will take place this Tuesday afternoon in Glasnevin.

The 70-year-old, who was a resident at Gilltown, Donadea, was a much-loved television figure for his presenting of the waterways documentaries on the State broadcaster, while he also penned a column in the Irish Examiner.

Mr Warner reportedly fell ill while on a boar trip on the river Shannon near Ballinasloe in Galway.

A funeral service will take place on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm in Glasnevin Crematorium. The family home is strictly private, and they have requested no flowers.

Mr Warner is deeply regretted by his loving wife Geraldine, sons Luke & Sam, brother Patrick, sister Romy, extended family and friends.
