Gardaí advise motorists to exercise care following accident on the Caragh bridge

Gardaí are warning motorists to exercise care on the Naas to Caragh road following an accident on the Caragh bridge inside the last hour.

It is understood that a van was the only vehicle involved in the incident, and part of the road was blocked for a period of time. Gardaí have informed KildareNow that motorists can still get by the incident, and that the road remains open this evening, but they are advising drivers to be careful on the route.

There are no reports of any injuries from the accident.

Traffic was already heavy in the area due to an ongoing event at Mondello Park, and this incident has only added to the delays being experienced either side of the bridge.

The bridge was closed last year from August to November after an accident caused significant structural damage, resulting in mass congestion to traffic on the Millenium Park Link Road in Naas.
