Visitors will have the opportunity to venerate the relics following the 10am Mass on both days.
Veneration will continue until 7pm on Wednesday and until 8pm on Thursday, which is the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The feast day Mass will be celebrated by Fr Simon Nolan O.Carm., Provincial of the Irish Carmelites.
An exhibition on the life of St Thérèse of Lisieux and the Martin family will also be held in Carmel Hall, beside the church, on both days. The display will include material from the 2001 exhibition that accompanied the historic visit of St Thérèse’s relics to Ireland.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of that memorable pilgrimage, making the return of the relics a significant occasion for devotees and visitors alike.
The Novena to Our Lady of Mount Carmel runs from July 7 to July 16 at the Carmelite Church, White Abbey, Kildare Town. All are welcome to attend the liturgies, veneration, and exhibition throughout the two-day visit.
