Illegal dumping in Co Kildare is 'scandalous' with appeals for CCTV

Outrage is being expressed in a Co Kildare village with tinned food, nappies and beer cans being thrown out on a weekly basis.

Fianna Fáil Cllr Martin Miley Junior is describing the spate of  illegal dumping in the areas of Kilmead, Moate and Monatore as 'scandalous.'

The Cllr is concerned that Moate, a picturesque area renowned for winning awards, is now becoming a litter spot.

Cllr Miley is appealing for CCTV to be installed in a bid to put a stop to the dumping.

He said:" This is unacceptable behaviour. Nappies, beer cans, tinned food, they are being torn apart by birds. People are picking up this rubbish with their bare hands."
