Kildare hotel slammed for charging €6.50 for a cup of tea

The price of a simple cup of tea in hotels has been a grunt with many members of the Irish public as such a inexpensive product to make is sold for a huge profit.
The K Club in Straffan has been labelled as the the most expensive hotel to enjoy a cup of tea in Ireland as they are charging €6.50 for a single cup of tea. The Merrion Hotel in Dublin charges the same amount fora cup of tea while the next most expensive is the Westbury Hotel in Dublin who charge €5.20 a cup.
The information comes from research compiled on the TripAdvisor website and the reaction to the survey online has seen readers suggesting that Ireland is returning to its silly spending period of the early 2000's.
The K Club defended their prices by saying that customers received their tea in a silver teapot and poured into 'fine bone china' and served with home-made hazelnut biscuits.
