KWWSPCA ‘Take Me Home’ column: meet three lovely dogs rescued from the Dog Pound and in need of a forever home

KildareNow supports the prevention of cruelty to animals. The KWWSPCA runs an animal shelter in Athgarvan and is open Mon-Sat (closed Sundays) from 2-4pm to visitors. Meet Wendy, Leon and Jet, all seeking a 'forever' home.

LEON, a very friendly and clever young Lab/Collie cross, aged about 9 months, who is looking for his forever home. Leon has been a bit hit with KWWSPCA volunteers since his arrival. A big, playful puppy but very clever – he has quickly learnt to sit, give the paw and he is a dog who would be great for agility training. He loves being out and about, full of excitement!

So he will need someone used to handling a strong, biggish dog, but once he has settled down, he walks along beside you quite happily without pulling at all.

JET is a lovely young Patterdale cross terrier male, about a year old but very friendly and sweet, who happily shares his kennel with another dog and loves to play. He’s a typical terrier, inquisitive but friendly and enjoys his walks. Albeit a bit keen initially, he is good on the lead.

For more information about these and other animals in the care of the KWWSPCA call/text our Rehoming Manager on 087 913 3923 (reasonable hours) or email [email protected] or private message us through our Facebook page. KWWSPCA charges a re-homing fee of €100 to partly off-set veterinary and other costs and a home check is needed. All dogs are neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.
