Protection granted by Kildare judge

A man claimed at Naas District Court that his partner “makes light” of the death of his father.

He sought protection from the court and alleged he had been subjected to psychological abuse for the last two years.

He also claimed that the woman, who was not present or represented, was abusive to his children. He said she has mental health issues and has received treatment at a residential facility.

He claimed he said she has said all he wanted to do is sit in a chair.

Judge Desmond Zaidan granted an interim protection order. He told the man that in this instance this “is as good” as a barring order.

The judge also comments that the woman is vulnerable as well.
