The passenger jet that crashed shortly after take-off in Egypt was registered and owned in Ireland.

The Metrojet crashed on Saturday morning 23 minutes after taking off from Sharm el-Sheikh, killing all 224 on board, the vast majority of them Russians. Terrorist experts believe that the plane crash may have been caused by ISIS.

The Metrojet Airbus A321-200 (registration E1-ETJ) is listed in the Irish Aviation Authority's Register of Aircraft as being owned by Wilmington Trust SP Services Dublin Ltd with offices in the Irish Financial Services Centre (IFSC) at George's Dock in Dublin.
