Three cases sent forward for trial at Naas Circuit Criminal Court
KILDARE
A man convicted of causing two deaths was sent forward for trial for other offences at Naas Circuit Criminal Court.
A book of evidence was served in the case by gardaí at Naas District Court on Thursday, December 15.
David Fortune O’ Leary, formerly of Rutland Grove in Crumlin, County Dublin, is currently serving a 12-year custodial sentence that was imposed on him last year stabbing his father, Gerry Fortune, to death in his home on August 19, 2018.
Previously, the 35-year-old had been jailed for eight years in 2006 after he fatally stabbed 31-year-old Michael Murphy outside the Buda Bar in Blanchardstown on Halloween night in 2004.
Appearing in Naas Courthouse on Thursday, December 1, he was accused of seizing a vehicle without the consent of the owner at SuperValu in Kilcock on August 2, 2016.
His case was sent forward to the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court, which will commence on January 11, 2023.
ALLEGATION
Separately, Laurence Fox, 29, with an address given as 10 Ottomy Avenue in Clane, and his co-accused, Christopher O' Brien, 35, with an address listed as Mainham on the Kilcock road in Clane, also had their cases sent forward for trial at the next sittings of Naas Circuit Criminal Court.
It was heard that the duo allegedly assaulted a man in Clane with silver baseball bats on May 15 last.
Gardaí claimed that the man had to be put into a coma as a result of the alleged injuries.
Both Mr Fox and Mr O' Brien have previously criticised delays in the case.
Mr Fox has also repeatedly denied any involvement in the alleged offence.
