Assault case sent to Portlaoise Circuit Court

A woman has been sent forward for trial in relation to an alleged assault in Abbeyleix. 

Lisa Rafter, 32 with an address at 52 Thornberry, Abbeyleix is accused of assault causing harm at Thornberry Park, Abbeyleix on May 14, 2021. 

She was served with a book of evidence at a sitting of Portlaoise District Court. 

Garda Sergeant JJ Kirby said the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed that the case be forwarded to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court beginning on October 24. 

Suzanne Dooner BL requested legal aid for a solicitor and one barrister which was granted. 

Judge Andrew Cody sent the case forward to the next sittings of Portlaoise Circuit Court.
