Frustration showing in Laois as no election counts yet completed

'Nearly everyone I talked to here is frustrated'
Frustration is setting in at the Laois Count Centre where a first count has yet to be completed.
Sinn Fein’s Aidan Mullins said: “Nearly everyone I talked to here is frustrated. They are demanding answers and nobody is providing them. We are not being given any indication when the first count will finish. We have been watching other centres all day and some counties I am told are finished the entire count. They are gone home. We are still here. It is 6.30pm. We don’t have the result of the first count. We don’t know when we will have it.”
The Local Election and European votes were separated in Scoil Christ Rí in Portlaoise before being delivered to the Count Centre at the Kea-Lew Business Park, Portlaoise at around 6pm on Saturday.
“We need answers to this. This is the second time. The last Local Election five years ago we were in the very same place, the worst performers in the country and there has to be a reason for that. We have made the very same mistakes again this time but we are not getting any explanation. It will be brought up in the chamber at the next monthly meeting. Answers will need to be provided,” said Mr Mullins.
