If a Laois light goes out it's out 'for all time'

A light in Durrow has never worked and a public representative for the Laois town doesn't expected that it will ever.
The blackout was revealed to Laois County Council officials by Cllr Ollie Clooney, Independent, when he cautioned fellow councillors about the risk of underground cables for street lights.
Cllr Clooney said a great job had been done in Durrow overhauling the square and putting in street lights but it wasn't perfect.
"When a light goes out it's out for all time...one light never lit," he said.
Cllr Clooney said the work was carried out in the summer but when the winter came around there was no sign of light.
The Indpendent councilor commented after an appeal was made to Laois Couty Council to have cables undergrounded in Clonaslee.
"A word of warning - make sure all the lights are lit," he advised.
The matter was raised at the April Borris-in-Ossory Moutmellick Municipal District meeting.
