St. Michael's Athletics Club in Portarlington had 6 runners take on the Celbridge 5k with their athletes joining over 470 runners who were entered to take on the fast course.

First home for the club was Sean McAuliffe in a fantastic time of 17 minutes flat, over 10 seconds of a PB for Sean, who has made massive gains throughout the year.

Next in was Shane Maher with another huge PB, covering the distance in a time of 17:15. Riley Connolly was their third runner in. This time Riley took over 50 seconds off of his PB by running 18:08.

Kate Connolly was St. Michael's first girl, with a time of 19:13 and over 30 seconds off her 5k PB. Kate was unlucky not to take first place as she came second on the night. Siobhán O'Loughlin had a great run and took 19 seconds off her 5k time with a finishing time of 19:29.

Our 6th runner on the night had the largest improvement on her PB, by taking a whopping 90 seconds off of her 5k time as Aine O'Loughlin ran the 5k in 23:03.

Along with the fantastic running of their 6 athletes, they were also second team on the night, with Sean, Shane, Kate and Siobhán scoring.
