Laois Gardaí issue advice following burglaries
They said a number of incidents occurred in Portlaoise recently
Laois Gardaí have issued a warning to shop owners following a number of burglaries in Portlaoise.
Although the incidents occurred in Portlaosie Gardaí said the advice is for all shop owners in Laois and Offaly.
“Gardaí in Portlaoise have charged a male in connection with recent burglaries in the town centre. Investigations are continuing, and extra patrols are in place,” Gardaí said.
They have asked the business community to: “Keep tills clear of cash overnight and leave them open and visible. Secure valuable stock properly with good physical and electronic measures.Double-check alarms, locks, and shutters before closing.”
Gardaí also asked people to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 999.
