Laois musicians in with a chance to perform at this year's Electric Picnic
Electric Picnic will return to Stradbally from August 28-30
Laois musicians have been invited to take to the stage at this year's Electric Picnic as the hugely popular Electric Keys stage will return following its debut at last year's festival.
Electric Picnic introduced the new stage, Electric Keys, to festival-goers in Stradbally last year which gave musicians of all abilities the opportunity to perform at Ireland's biggest music festival.
A stand-alone piano nestled in the heart of Croí was the stage for a variety of performers across the weekend and once again the applications have opened for new musicians to take part.
Musicians of all abilities are welcome to apply, whether you've performed in public before or now is the time you hope to take to the stage for the very first time.
Electric Keys will operate just like last year, with an informal setting for artists to perform with a live festival audience.
Curated slots will run throughout the weekend, which the festival organisers say will provide performers with a "unique stage framed by nature and spontaneity." Select performances may also be featured on Electric Picnic's social media channels.
You can perform solo or with an ensemble of up to four musical accompaniments. For scheduled performances, in addition to the piano, the space will be equipped with a high-quality four channel PA system with a microphone to support live vocals and three additional instruments.
The multi-channel setup allows musicians to mic up vocals, a violin, guitar, or any other instrument they choose to bring, ensuring flexibility and professional sound.
Outside of the curated sessions, Electric Keys will remain open all weekend, inviting picnickers to share their own musical talents at the festival.
With such a huge interest in its debut year, Electric Picnic have decided to extend the application window for this year. Applications are now open and the deadline is June 5.

The winning entrants will be contacted by July 3.
