Portlaoise College unveils new soccer jerseys

School teams get a fresh look
Portlaoise College’s teams have a fresh look with the unveiling of their new soccer jerseys.
They were thrilled to announce the launch of their new soccer jerseys, generously sponsored by Joe Delaney of Boom and Platform Hire LTD and electrical contractor Thomas Carroll. This exciting collaboration marks a significant milestone for the school's soccer teams and highlights the commitment to the development of girls' soccer within the school.
The eye-catching jerseys, adorned with the school's home and away colours and proudly displaying the logos of Boom and Platform Hire LTD and Thomas Carroll, bring a fresh look to the girl's soccer teams.
The sponsorship demonstrates the strong support from local businesses toward fostering athletic excellence and team spirit among the students. The jerseys had their first outing last week as the U-17 girls played cross-town Scoil Chríost Rí, emerging victorious 6-2 after a tough contest. There were excellent defensive performances across the park, in a performance marked by team spirit and communication throughout with some new players to the game making a strong impact from the bench.
Principal Noel Daly expressed his gratitude for the generous sponsorship.

The girl's soccer manager, Mr James Moloughney, was also thrilled with the new jerseys.
"The support from Joe and Thomas is a game-changer for us and not only benefits the current teams but also contributes significantly to the long-term development of girls' soccer in our school. The investment made in Gear mirrors not only the commitment of the school to developing girls' soccer but also the commitment of the girls themselves to work hard and reach their potential. One win down, the future is bright for the girls,” he said.
