€3,000 presented to two local causes from Stradbally charity fashion show

A community group in Stradbally has presented two local causes with €1,500 each following a successful charity fashion show in August.

The fashion show, hosted by Annette Jones, took place at the Malthouse, Stradbally on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Ms Jones selected themes for the show and sourced the wardrobe from second-hand shops. Gladys Greene managed the backstage operation on the night, ensuring each model was dressed and ready to walk on stage. Live music was provided by Sean Lewis on accordion and John Maher on guitar.

This was the second year of the fashion show, and Ms Jones looks forward to continuing the event next year, noting that there are “models already lining up.”

An official presentation followed on October 16, 2026 with €1,500 cheques presented to both Stradbally Meals on Wheels and Kolbe Special School.

Ms Jones thanks local businesses, volunteers and attendees for their overwhelming support. The proceeds from the event will support these two charities in their vital work in the community.
