A defendant jailed seven months after having a prison term suspended will return before Judge Bernadette Owens in February when the judge will give a determination.

Emma Pugh (30) of Margate Hostel, Finiskin, Sligo was before Longford District Court in respect of a suspended sentence imposed in the court last May.

Judge Owens was to determine if she would revoke the suspension of the four month prison term she suspended for a period of 12 months.

Solicitor Brid Mimnagh told the judge her client recently received a sentence in Sligo and was anxious to have the issue of the outstanding suspended sentence concluded.

Judge Owens said before she made a decision on the matter a probation report was relevant to determine if it should be a consecutive or concurrent sentence.

The judge then put the matter back to February 20 next when the defendant will appear by videolink. Judge Owens directed the preparation of a probation report and granted Ms Pugh legal aid.
