THE ESB say damage to a pole led to power outages in the Tullamore area last Thursday.

Over 900 homes and businesses were affected by the power cut. Meanwhile in Snugborough in Offaly, over 100 houses were left without electricity until Thursday afternoon.

ESB say that Offaly held up relatively well following the two storms Isha and Jocelyn however, they said some damage did occur as a result of high winds.

In a statement the Network said, ''ESB Networks were alerted to a damaged pole that required immediate repair. Crews mobilised to carry out the necessary repair work which led to outages in Tullamore for a number of households and premises. Power has since been restored to all affected customers. We apologise to all customers impacted for the inconvenience caused."

Following the peak of Storm Isha and subsequent high winds associated with Storm Jocelyn crews worked to safely restore power to over 230,000 customers across the country, particularly the Northwest.
