Tullamore struggled with indiscipline, conceding several penalties, though they managed to get on the board with a well-taken penalty by Josh Huddlestone, bringing the score to 5-3.

However, Monkstown's relentless pressure and Tullamore’s penalty count allowed the home team to maintain control. Just before half time, Monkstown found the try line again, extending their lead to 12-3 as they went into the break.

The second half continued with similar challenges for Tullamore, as more penalties provided Monkstown with key opportunities. The home team exploited these chances, adding two more tries through effective maul plays to stretch their advantage. Despite the pressure, Tullamore showed moments of resilience, especially when Liam Farrell broke through the defense with a brilliant solo effort to score Tullamore’s only try of the day. Huddlestone added the conversion, closing the gap to 26-13.

The result highlights areas for improvement as Tullamore look to tighten discipline ahead of a pivotal clash against Bruff at home, an "8-point" fixture for the group standings. A strong response will be needed as they look to turn their season around.
