Five staff members celebrate over 100 years of service at childcare service in Offaly

Five staff members recently celebrated over 100 years combined service at Kilcormac Community Childcare Playschool and Afterschool.

KCC was established as a Community Childcare in 2000 and Mary Spain, Mary Murray, Mary Kiely, Yvonne Coyne and Paula Tooher are the longest staff members. In acknowledging the five staff members the Board pointed out that they all go over and beyond their daily duties and have become the face of KCC in the Community.

Between them they have worked across a number of different services including Playschool, Afterschool, Summercamps and more recently Breakfast Club. They oversaw a move from a rented facility in St Joseph’s Community Centre to a purpose build Childcare Facility and in 2018 the Afterschool moved to the old Boys National School on Ballyboy Road.

There are currently exciting plans by Kilcormac Community Childcare to establish a creche and planning has currently been lodged. Wishing the three Marys, Paula and Yvonne many more years at KCC.
