The mother of two young sons murdered at the hands of their father is to read from her new book at an event in Tullamore.

Offaly Domestic Violence Support Service have invited the author, Kathleen Chada to Tullamore Library on this Friday, December 1, from 4.30pm to 5.30pm, to read from her book, “Everything”.

Ten years after the murder of her two sons, Eoghan (10) and Ruairi (5), at the hands of their father, Ms Chada, in her book, said she has tried to give her sons the voice that was taken away from them.

This event is in association of the 16 Days of global awareness of violence against women and children which began on November 25, running through to December 10.

CEO of ODVSS Anne Clarke said “We are delighted to welcome back Kathleen, who spoke some time ago at one of our International Women’s Day events, so to have her back now and read from her book is a real honour.”

“Everything  is a beautiful though painful celebration of her sons'young lives, but it is also a powerful and rewarding story of how a mother has attempted to build her life back into one piece after the devastation of their deaths”.

This is a free event and open to the public, book your seat by calling ODVSS on 0579351796 or email  [email protected]

Light refreshments will be served.
