Ballycumber GAA has led tributes to the late Tom Doolan who was a club trustee for almost half a century and passed away over the weekend.

In a tribute on social media over the weekend the club said: “Ballycumber GAA Club is very saddened to hear of Tom Doolan’s passing earlier this morning. We extend our sincere sympathy to the Doolan family. Tom was a life-long supporter of the club and served in many Club officer positions, with distinction. He was a Club Trustee for close on 50 years. Tom also played a huge part in our wider community and he transported numerous underage and school teams around the county over the years.

“As a mark of respect to Tom, there will be a minute’s silence before tomorrow’s match vs Cappincur. Acknowledging Tom’s services to Offaly GAA and his term as Vice Chairman, the games in O’Connor Park tomorrow will also observe a minute’s silence before throw in. May Tom rest in peace,” the club’s post said.
