Three men arrested for public order incidents in Birr

THREE men were arrested last week for committing public order incidents in Birr in recent weeks.

On Sunday night, October 29, a young man was intoxicated outside Melba's Nite Club in Emmet Square and was being a nuisance to the door staff. The Gardai were called to the scene and asked the man to leave but he didn't. He was therefore arrested and was issued an on the spot fine.

On Tuesday October 31 a male was extremely intoxicated at a filling station on Roscrea Road, during the evening, and was considered to be both a danger to himself and to others. He was arrested and given a Fixed Charge Penalty Notice.

On Thursday evening, November 2, a man was highly intoxicated outside a pub on Emmet Street and was threatening the staff. The Guards asked him to leave but he wouldn't. He was arrested and charged with threatening, insulting and abusive behaviour and being intoxicated in a public place, to appear in a future District Court sitting.
