Tullamore District Court was told that a woman who was ejected from the Bridge House became abusive to staff.

Tullamore District Court was told that a woman who was ejected from the Bridge House became abusive to staff.

In his evidence, at last week's sitting of Tullamore District Court, Sergeant Brendan Kearns said that on March 17, 2024, Sergeant Reilly observed Tanya Ennis being ejected from the Bridge House by staff.

She began acting in an aggressive manner towards the staff and was abusive to Sergeant Reilly when she told her to leave the area. She had no previous convictions.

Solicitor Patrick Martin said Ms Ennis apologises for her behaviour. He said she drank too much on the night and had fallen asleep and that was why she was being put out of the venue.

Judge Cody asked if she had attended the garda station to apologise to Sergeant Reilly. Mr Martin said she did try to apologise.

He said Ms Ennis is in employment and is a 37-year-old mother of one child.

She had brought €500 with her to court.

Judge Cody directed that the €500 be donated to the Garda Benevolent Fund.
