Xpeng enters the electric MPV segment with X9 luxury minivan

The X9 will sit above the firm’s G6 electric SUV and brings a claimed electric range of up to 382 miles.
Xpeng has announced its latest entry into the electric MPV class with the X9 luxury minivan.
Xpeng is a Chinese technology company that started selling cars in the UK in 2025 with the G6 electric SUV. The X9 is the second model to launch on our shores and will be a rival to the Volkswagen ID.Buzz and Maxus Mifa 9.
As standard, the X9 comes with a seven-seat configuration with electronic sliding rear doors, and what Xpeng calls a ‘lounge-concept’ interior.
Underneath, Xpeng has not revealed the size of the battery packs, but the Standard Range comes with a single electric motor that produces 315bhp and 420Nm of torque while 60mph comes around in eight seconds and runs onto a top speed of 124mph. Meanwhile, it can travel up to a claimed 332 miles on a single charge.

The Long Range produces the same power, torque and top speed, but its acceleration reduces the 0-60mph times down to 7.5 seconds and has a claimed range of up to 382 miles.
There is also a dual-motor all-wheel drive model that makes 496bhp and 640Nm of torque and has a claimed range of up to 360 miles.
All cars come with an 800-volt architecture, which allows for ultra-rapid charging speeds of up to 542kW, enabling a 10 to 80 per cent top-up to take just 12 minutes.
Orders for the Xpeng X9 are open now with prices starting at £74,990 and rising to £84,990 for the all-wheel drive model. Deliveries will commence in the third quarter of this year.
