Man due in court over the death of pedestrian in 2023 crash

A man has been arrested and charged over a road crash last August in which a 70-year-old pedestrian died.

The woman was walking on Stevenson Drive, Balgreen, Edinburgh, on August 26 when the incident happened at about 3.30pm.

She was taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where she died a short time later.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic offences.

He was due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Thursday.
