County Derry fashion designer Aoife Harvey shined at Ireland Fashion Week.

The Claudy designer was part of the very first Ireland Fashion Week held in the Marker Hotel in Dublin.

Aoife showcased a stunning design based on the theme of The Irish Sea.

Describing her chosen design, Aoife said: “The fabrics I’ve chosen are in soft, calming tones — a palette that reflects how the beach makes me feel: relaxed, peaceful, and at ease. I patchworked these fabrics together, paying homage to the traditional Irish practice of patchwork, where mending and making  was both a necessity and an art form.”

Speaking about her experience, the north Derry woman continued:  “Ireland Fashion Week was an unforgettable experience, and I’m so proud to have been a part of it. The energy, creativity, and sheer passion on display made the entire event absolutely amazing. I had the honour of showcasing my look on the runway not once, but twice - with shows at 12pm and 2pm - on the beautifully Irish Sea themed runway at The Marker Hotel.

“The production was absolutely breathtaking. From the atmosphere to the organisation, every detail was flawlessly executed. A huge shoutout to the Dylan Bradshaw Hair Team, in partnership with L'Oréal Professionnel, for the stunning hairstyles that brought each look to life. The glam was completed by the talented so sue me Cosmetics makeup team, who did an incredible job elevating the entire aesthetic.

“At the event, not only did I present my designs on the runway, but I also had the pleasure of dressing a few audience members — and even styled both myself and my boyfriend in my brand, AH Designs. It was such a proud moment to see my work worn throughout the venue.

“As this year’s Ireland Fashion Week comes to an end, I find myself already thinking: what’s next? This has been a hugely successful milestone for AH Designs and Ireland’s fashion scene , and I’m so grateful for the love and support.”

Aoife is thrilled to share that this week she has officially launched her website ahdesigns.co.uk - a new space to explore, shop, and connect with the brand.

The designer is also hoping to launch some sewing workshops in the near future to help others tap into their own creativity and passion for fashion.
