Time is running out for people to make submissions on Kilkenny County Council's Irish Language Plan.

The final day for submissions is this Wednesday, February 2, by 5pm.

Kilkenny County Council is preparing an Irish Language Scheme in accordance with Section 11 of the Official Languages Act 2003.  It is proposed that this Scheme will run for three years until 2025.

The primary objective of the Official Languages Act is to ensure better availability and a higher standard of public services through Irish.  It is anticipated that the new Scheme will build on the progress made by Kilkenny County Council from the first Language Scheme delivering services through Irish.
