Laois people living in and around Electric Picnic host town Stradbally are invited to a public meeting on this year's festival which is set to attract a record attendance.

Electric Picnic is set to grow in size again this year, with the promoters seeking permission for an additional 5,000 daily attendees to the Laois venue.

EP Republic Ltd applied to Laois County Council in March for an outdoor music event licence from Thursday, August 28 to Sunday, August 31. The promoter indicated that it anticipated a daily attendance of 80,000 people, up from 75,000 per day in 2024. That's a far cry from the 10,000 who attended the first every EP in 2004 when it was a one-day event.
